A warm invitation to the opening of our farm shop. After extensive renovation work, things can start on April 1st. We expect guests from 9 a.m. This is not an April Fool's joke. There are people who invest in the regional infrastructure. This is how old traditions are revived. The old farm shop in the center of 15859 Kehrigk will reopen on April 1st. The doors are open from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Here you can find happy potatoes from free-range farmers. Fresh eggs from scratching poultry and everything that the regional organic production has to offer in the way of fruit and vegetables or jams and juices. You are cordially invited to this opening. Coffee, cake, Bockwurst, soup, soft ice cream and lots of tasty things for your physical well-being will be served. We also have 6 donkeys on site who will delight visitors in a carriage or on a short walk between 10 a.m. and 12 p.m. and 2 p.m. and 4 p.m. Ralf, Bernd, Frank, Jörg, Olaf and Daniel are waiting for lovely guests who enjoy a shared spring experience. They want to smuggle a great photo into the family album and put a smile on the faces of guests, big and small. We hope for sunshine and are looking forward to new and old guests who will start the spring with us. Registration is not necessary. We are simply here. Hopefully you will too

Unfortunately, modern man has lost the ability to use land to live in harmony with nature. That is why we are where we are, faced with a shambles: microplastics in all soils, contaminated water, insect deaths, general species extinction, climate change

NATURE AND LANDSCAPE PROTECTION

GOALS of the community farm and future foundation (in formation): Nature conservation and landscape protection to protect biodiversity, biotopes, soil and groundwater, both on farmland and in the forest. RESPONSIBILITY: Sustainable use and healing of the land in harmony with responsibility for the planet. COMMITMENT: Returning to nature for self-regeneration requires sacrifice, full commitment and support.

ANIMAL WELFARE

Keeping animals requires a special sense of responsibility. You can look after injured or abandoned wild animals and release them back into the wild or care for them in species-appropriate enclosures. Animal shelters show that many animals from the history of breeding live in miserable situations because of a lack of responsibility. Keeping farm animals has led to a loss of diversity, as it was often subordinated to economic constraints. The GEH is committed to preserving regional breeds of farm animals, many of which have already become extinct. Old, hardy breeds such as mountain sheep and Freiberger horses need our help and contribute to organic farming. Free-range and barn-based chicken farming are important aspects of species-appropriate animal husbandry that offer the animals better living conditions. It is a symbiosis that requires appreciation for the life and personality of the animals.

Wir sind Landwirte oder ländlich arbeitende Menschen, die gemeinsam die Strukturen der  Gemeinschaftsfarm und zukünftigen Stiftung (in Gründung) in den verschiedensten Gewerken wie Landwirtschaft, Gärtnerei, Tierzucht, Waldwirtschaft, Holzverarbeitung,  Hofladen u.a.m. mit Leben und Zukunft ausfüllen. Wir versuchen uns in nachhaltigerer Lebensweise  durch Verzicht, Sparsamkeit, handwerklicher Arbeit statt kurzlebiger Industrieprodukte, Selbstversorgung und in ganzheitlicher Verantwortung für uns, das Dorf und die Erde. Wir laden interessierte Menschen ein, mit uns dieser Verantwortung gerecht zu werden,  sie zu erweitern und in der Höfegemeinschaft als einem engagierten lebensfrohem Team die EIGENE unternehmerische Zukunft zu gestalten.

TREFFPUNKT HOFLADEN: GENIESSER-IMBISS & CAFÉ

The Grasse country store is a central meeting point in village life and is to be preserved by taking over the lease, despite the high level of competition from larger suppliers. It is to continue to be a place to linger and for spontaneous purchases. The community farm and future foundation (in formation) supports this project by running the country store as a farm shop for its own and regional organic products. The operators ask for your understanding for the lack of experience and limited opening hours.

PENSION GRASSE KEHRIGK - geschlossen

We at the community farm are happy that there is still some tourist and catering business in such a small village. The founding family has gone into well-earned retirement, and the team at the community farm and future foundation (in formation) has been running this gem ever since, so that it is not lost to life. We are happy to meet a committed operator who will take the work off our hands and create a place of encounters that connects guests and the place to create an experience. Because it has a lot to offer.

GARDENING - ORCHARD - SELF-SUFFICIENCY

A nursery enables self-sufficiency and the sale of vegetables such as potatoes, onions, beans, peas, carrots, celery, leeks, beetroot, pumpkins and tomatoes. In the summer months, lettuce, radishes, strawberries and sweetcorn complement the range, while various berries can be used raw or processed. The nursery also grows fruit such as peaches, apricots, mirabelles, plums, pears and nuts and sells surplus products in the farm shop. Those interested can learn self-sufficiency through programs such as WOOF and FÖJ.

FOREST

The forest is the basis of our habitat, which we have changed greatly through human intervention. Measures to care for and reforest the forest are crucial to healing the earth, protecting the climate and creating habitat for numerous plants and animals. These activities also have a positive impact on us humans. Committed helpers are very welcome, whether through donations or active assistance in planting trees and building wildlife fences. In this way, we contribute to creating a healthier future for the forest.

HORSES

Two Belgian cold-blooded horses have found a home here. One of these animals weighs almost 1000 kg. They pull carriages. And if necessary, tree trunks from the forest. It would also be nice to use these animals to keep the centuries-old farming alive and in memory as part of the preservation of tradition. In addition, we offer our future tenants the potential infrastructure to invest in horse keeping, whether they are their own or boarding horses. From the foundation's point of view, it is right to integrate horse keeping into holistic farming, as the barren pastures or coarser hay are not suitable for cattle or, in our opinion, sheep.

SHEEP

We don't have mountains. But we do have mountain sheep (a breed of livestock threatened with extinction). And a colorful mix of Ouessant sheep, the smallest breed of sheep in the world, a bit like a big cat with plenty of wool. And so the woolly lawnmowers decorate the village and are very popular, especially with the youngest and the older ones, as they provide variety during walks and are patient listeners.

A Voluntary Ecological Year requires determined young people who want to live ecologically and make a contribution to saving the world. This involves a lot of manual work to provide sustainable food, housing and leisure. Practical work to regenerate nature and create habitats for animals are also part of the program. Applications can be submitted via the contact form or directly via ijgd-Brandenburg. A lot of support is needed to achieve noticeable changes in the village and surrounding area.
